SMOKIN' ACES SCREENPLAY 12/31/2006 at 08:45 PM

Download file

Alright kids. For those of you bored out of your skulls or electing to stay home
this New Years, I offer the following for your reading enjoyment (or torment) and
edification. The script I submitted to Universal, which really represents the version
they greenlit. Lot of changes in the final film, including the ending (although we
did shoot the scripted ending, it goes to that wonderful orphanage known as the
DVD deleted scenes section, to be claimed by its loving parent later) and other
misc twists and turns. I put it in PDF form, so it can be downloaded, but I'll be
honest, I don't know my ass from first base when it comes to this stuff and I've
hit the banana peel HARD in the past when it comes to the technical aspects of
this blog. But hey man, no hill for a climber, so here goes! Also, just in case you
think the life of a Hollywood director is this wild, non-stop orgy of excess, consider
the following: I am blogging this at nearly 9pm on what is traditionally regarded as
the biggest party night of the year...

...Ladies and Gentleman we have a winner! AND IT'S ME!

Joe you are an incredible director, I am new to the site, and really looking forward to Smokin' Aces. I loved Narc, some of the best acting I have seen in a long while! How would one email you directly, if that is even possible? Oh, and don't feel bad about staying in on New Year's Eve, I choose too myself, too many drunk drivers out there.

Thank you Joe, what a way to ring in the new year !!! Question though, regarding Faceless, if Fox passed on it can you guys still shop it around? Have a great night Joe, wherever you choose to be and many thanks for the script.

It's too bad about knuckleheads dictating an alternative ending. I enjoyed NARC quite a bit, and recently caught BGB&O on DVD. I was a bit disappointed with whatever happened on MI:III as I thought you could bring quite a bit of excitment to the series (if Ticker was any indication).

I'm definitely looking for to SMOKIN' ACES, not least of all because it shows the handy work of virtuoso card flourisher Dave Buck (or is it Dan?) doin' the Carnahan fan.

Holy Shit Balls (2 words?)

This is awesome, can't wait to read it as I nurse my fun hangover. God bless the internet. I just saw a tv spot for Smokin' Aces during halftime of the Outback Bowl on ESPN. GO PENN STATE!!

Thanks Joe!!
