Kids:
Still too early to predict the overall box-office take for the weekend, but it
looks like we'll be in the 13-16 million dollar range which for a hard 'R' film,
playing on over 600 less screens than 'Epic Movie' which is PG-13, is flat out
ass-kicking. I owe each and every one of you a huge debt of gratitude for getting
out and supporting the movie like that.
I know some of you have questions about the film, questions that I feel could
be best answered by the second perhaps matinee or if you should choose, full-price
viewing of the film.......HA!
I will attempt to answer everything. Just remember guys. The twist at the end isn't
really intended to be a twist at all. It's what the Feds (Gov't) did and the sacrifice (betrayal)
they made of their own people. It's exposition and explanation that count in the
end and not me trying to trick you and deliver a 'Crying Game' style 'Jesus that
chick has a dick' type of finale. Ryan Reynolds character's motivations at the end
are set off by that scene in the hospital. Also:
Primo Sparazza, the old man, was actually Freeman Heller, the FBI agent that you're told at
the beginning of the film was actually killed by Sparazza. He was gunned down by
another FBI agent because the brass thought he had 'become' Sparazza and his
loyalty was now to the mob. Make sense?
....I hear the sound of crickets...
I will attempt to clarify any questions that you guys have. But I'm serious, see it
again. You have a road map for the film now. You can't imagine the stuff you will
pick up a second time. Trust me.
