ORIGINAL ALICIA POSTER 02/16/2007 at 02:48 PM

Smokin'.108.jpg

For a minute, we were going to go with this as the main poster. It's a really
bombastic image and I find it both sexy and powerful. I think there was some
debate that it was a glorified 'crotch-shot' and therefore it was eventually
tabled for a more global character approach. To her credit. Alicia loved that
image and never kicked up a fuss. That girl's got brass. And she's a gambler.
This image conveys that beautifully.

I dont think the crotch shot is that bad considering theyre black shorts.

but i couldnt help but notice-

The hit goes down March 2

omg, i dont know if i could have waited that long to see this movie. im glad it came out when it did. it was enough anticipation for me with the date of release. haha

i think if you had this poster, the movie would have dropped only 54% the second weekend and you might have come in 4th.

You find it sexy and powerful? Dude, you could've put Alicia Keys in an Triple-H T-shirt and sat her in a garbage can and she'd still have look sexy and powerful.

I like the main image, not a big fan of the boxed images of the other characters though.

However, that would look damn good hanging in my house though.

Oh those Universal marketing Geniuses....

March 2nd was the original release date, why was it bumped up?

To all those Epic Movie motherf@#ers, Aces is comfortably perched in the top 10 while Epic continues to fall faster than Marilyn Chambers to her knees. What did I tell you about longitivity?

Kevin

ps Joe, are you going to throw together a conceptual poster art gallery on this blog? I know you're busy but these posters deserve to be seen in all their glory.

The miss beautiful Alicia Keys! I have her first 2 albums and the Unplugged cd. I loved her in this movie. From what I've been reading the guys loved her too lol. I want that poster in my room.

Hey Joe,

This poster is definitaley powerful and sexy, and Alicia Keys really does deserve her own poster for her performance. To be completely honest with you though, i prefer the posters that were chosen above this. It is however a beautiful character poster.

Crotch shot? Where I didnt see it. Oh there it is. WOW I think it is a really nice crotch shot as crotch shots go.

I love Alicia and she did a great preformance, but I like that you went with all the characters on the other poster evenly. So that you get an idea about all the diffrent characters not just a main shot of Alicia.

It's a good poster, but I don't think it captures the film very well, especially the whole theme of chaos centered around one man. This certainly sells Alicia's character as being the "main" character in the film and the only way this design would've worked is if variations with the other characters were done. But why do that when you had the great design of all these character shots combined on the poster and differentiated by colors.
