Guys:

I am just now getting to these things so extend your patience just
a bit more and I will figure out a way to reward it. There's been requests
in the past to put the screenplay for NARC up on the blog, I'm also thinking
of posting KILLING PABLO which looks like it's finally ramping up for real.
Meeting this week to discuss a little scout to Colombia in the spring. If it
happens, we will go hard right after WHITE JAZZ. That story remains my
all-consuming passion and it has to get done and done right.

If there are any new queries, lob them in there and I'll answer them asap.

JC

ps. Guys, the April 17th DVD date has been set for months. We finished/finalized
all the extra features/deleted scenes stuff months ago. We literally wrapped the
DVD portion of the film a month before we opened. These days, where the revenue
is really in DVD, they take a lot of special care to make sure they're ready to rock
with something spectacular. This is where the film will really land with people. It
happened with NARC. It will happen with this.

Posting those scripts sounds like a great idea, Joe. I'd especially be all over the Killing Pablo script if you put that up.
It's also good to see that you still post here regularly, even after Smokin' Aces has come and gone from theaters. Speaking of Aces, I noticed that it is already hitting DVD on April 17th. While I'm psyched that it's just around the corner, I can't help but wonder if the process was rushed. Are all those great features you mentioned a while back still going to be on the disc? Either way, I'll be picking up the HD DVD the day it comes out, and will surely enjoy the hell out of it.

Really lookin´ forward to both films as i totally adore LAC.
Besides, just wanted to tell you how much I loved SA, despite of what the critics say.
THIS ROCKS BIG TIME. Reynolds and Piven are great in this. My only complaint is there were just 2 tracks of the original score on the soundtrack.
Good Luck for WJ!

I heard the same about the DVD. I'm more concerned about the cover art, as picky as it seems. I just can't understand why with all the great art that's been shown with the rejected posters and such, they seem like they're just using the theatre poster for the DVD art. I was excited to see what they were going to use, and if what I've been seeing is really what they plan to use, I'm dissapointed in the decision to use the same art for almost every aspect of the movie. They should use a variation of the "purple 007" art that everyone seemed to love so much. Hopefully it's going to change and the extras will make it all worth it. Hey, how about having a DVD cover design contest? That could be interesting...

Narc script would rock. I'd love to see how you structured that on the page. I thought Smokin' Aces was a great read, something not a lot of screenplays can say.

Any word on those Mission Impossible storyboards? I know you said there might be a rights/legal holdup, but I would love to see what you had in mind. Not to mention, it'd be great to get a window into your creative process.

Hey JC,

Any chance you can post the script for Blood, Guts, Bullets, and Octane while you're at it?

I just caught it again on Sundance Channel, and that movie was so insane that I'm dying to see how it reads.

Also, did you see the Killing Pablo script review that was posted in January?

What a f*cking tool.

I tried to read the "Latino Review" script review, but had to stop as soon as he made the QT/Guy Richie comparison and the "niche" comment. Who the hell is this guy to tell a filmmaker what his "niche" is??? I can't speak for Carnahan, but as a moviemaker (not quite a filmmaker yet) I would go insane if I kept reading how I "tried" to rip off this guy or that...and then have some stump try to tell me what my "niche" is. I can tell you from experience, when you have two shots left to get and you're losing light and the extras are starting to walk off and the location manager says your permit just ran out and the cops are saying you have to shut down...you're not thinking, "Hey, how can I best rip off Quentin Tarantino?"

Oh, and it's funny how he thought the trailers were good but couldn't "dig" the movie. I saw the same trailers, and it wasn't like there were slow dissolves and chamber music playing, with cotton tail bunnies and a smiling Sandra Bullock...the trailers were e x ac t l y what the movie was, if not more so. What did he want, pounding music and jump cuts for two hours straight?

Anyway, glad to hear the DVD is coming out...I hope the special features kick as much ass as the movie and things continue their positive stride with all things Carnahan.

Peace,
RTA

Joe: Life is slow in Nevada City, no shit, heh - unless your are a new world order dancer. Jerry Lives here - Trust me, I know these things. I feel like I am your age.

Guess what? There are the same percentage of low lifes at the Yuba River Charter as there are at Sac Waldorf and Live Oak - weird.

I got you in line on Netflix (no cable on Banner Mt. and perhaps more importantly, we'd rather JERRY it on date night - Cooper's)

I look forward to the viewing. I heard some decent feedback (especially the Euro production/distribution spin) - some of the other junk reminds me of your old Guns IV, "they use to say Taratino was Scorcesese (is that really a word).

I am glad everthing is humming. Why so many films in abeyance? Is the industry that weird? Buzz me on the email. Let's go skiing. Denyse and I just had a date DAY at Sugar Bowl - awesome!

Say hi oi Mielee (sp?) and the Rock- Cayce nailed a hatrick today in indoor - Mark is Mark.
B-I-B-B-Y !

Out- Rober (like my new spelling and pronunciation)

p.s. this cite is very BZ, but if we connect, I would say Hackman like - u no, isn't it time for a sequel. FC II (or is it III). Get Michael Caine. I heard he is looking for work.
