HollyVine_06.jpg

We're not shooting WHITE JAZZ in outer Bulgaria or f*cking Toronto. We're
shooting it right here in LOS ANGELES. This is a photoshopped work-up of
Hollywood and Vine circa '58. You'd be amazed how little you have to do to
return that block to its former, period luster.

Look close and check out the driver of that red sled.

Look vaguely familiar?

Very sweet, Joe! Thanks for sharing this mock-up image. Hope you can dish out a few more. It's always interesting to see these conceptual pieces that help sell the mood and tone of the script. One little thing I noticed, though, but only because I have a lot of Photoshop experience as well, the 'Red Sled" has got some fairly "low-rider" rims, don't you think? At least for a car from the 50s

That's sick, Joe!

I'd say the driver does look not-so-vaguely familiar! Perfect guy for that era too!

Any updates on contest/casting for Smokin2 or Jazz?

Don't mean to push the bullet on that, but I ain't tryin' to keep the crappy job I have!

Peace - keep bringin' the heat!

LOL Nice! I have a neighbor who collects classic cars. He usually has two or three "on display" at a time. We drive by his home just to see what he'll put out next. :)

Ah, it's amazing! I've always been fascinated by the 50's; love the diners modeled to look like that era.

Amazing job, love the grainy look to the photo.

Is the driver... Mr. Clooney? Watch, it's someone completely different.

Joe

Agree with you there about not needing much to return that intersection to it's former glory.

Shooting in L.A. Goddamm, I love hearing productions remaining in Los Angeles and staying true to the locale of the story in the script, novel, etc.

Will be paying attention to the trades for the crew information.

Kevin

ps Great photo. Interesting thing about that photo is that Clooney, photoshopped or not, truly seems to fit in that time period. He has that swagger about him.

Joe,
I'm as excited about this project as any other coming out of Hollywood in the next few years. This should be the perfect storm of mixing great novel, great writers/director and cast (Clooney). Knock it out the park. Great photo, too!

Just looks so cool... and sort of further reminds me that I was born in the wrong time.

If I could time travel, I would choose either 50s LA, 30s Chicago or the Wild West.
