WHITE JAZZ START 06/06/2007 at 10:32 AM

While not official, it looks like we start shooting December 10th.
Lot of work ahead. I want this thing tighter than a snare drum.
I'm really going to endeavor to get the script up on-line. I know I say
that sh*t all the time but there's invariably some legal nonsense
that prevents its expedience. Just know that I've got guns on it.

Yeah, those lawyers can be pesky little vermin, can't they?

Don't forget Narc.

And Killing Pablo.

And whatever else you got knockin' about in your desk drawer. :)

Joe, what is the release date for White Jazz? Just checked on IMDB and they've only got 2009 (WTF?!?!). Is there any "set" date?

Oh, and also while checkin' IMDB, someone is claiming to have the script for White Jazz and Killing Pablo already.

Go kick that person's ass, Joe!

Cool, would love to read WJ. Should we expect any casting announcements in the next couple weeks?

Off topic- Any idea when the Universal tech guys are gonna' put up your answers to everybody's questions?

Great news. I can't wait for White Jazz.

Veryu cool news, Joe. Just wondering, which do you enjoy the most, Preprod, Prod, or Post? Call me a glutton for punishment, but damn I love me the prep work.

And ditto on Doubler's comments about scripts. Maybe we should hire the Tremor Bros. to take care of your lawyer problems.

Sounds busy Joe. I was surprised to see that you'd be at the Sac. Film & Music Festival in August. That must feel somewhat odd, always being "the" film success story out of Sacramento and having, I'm sure more than you could possibly attend, people want you to come around to their "event." Pretty decent that you still do that stuff for all of us small-timers around here though.

I don't know if I'll be there, but if so, see you then...

Joe, don't tease me -- this is one of maybe the top three movies I'm looking forward to seeing. E-mail me when you're ready to talk about Jazz for ten hours straight.

Joe,

Eagerly awaiting a peek at the script. Thanks for keeping us updated with all things Carnahan, Joe.

Curious about this, White Jazz is shooting in L.A., right?

The Big Nowhree is my favorite James Elroy novel, but White Jazz is right up there.

This type of gritty universe needs a balls to the wall director whose got tons of brains to pull it off right. Still not sure about having the central family being Mexican instead of Armenian like in the novel. If this was any other director I'd be getting a sinking feeling. But this you, Joe.

If nothing else I've learned, when Joe Carnahan does something, then dammit, it's for a f*cking reason. Joe, take hold of that movie and KILL IT! I can't wait!
