GOODBYE GONZO...WE HARDLY KNEW YA. 08/27/2007 at 01:06 PM

So former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales becomes the latest
Bush administration lackey to get blown out of the airlock. Heartbreaking.
This guy may be the new standard bearer in sycophantic fanaticism and
I'm reasonably sure, he would be able to describe, in minute, sketch artist-like
detail, the inner workings of the president's (Jesus, is that getting harder to type)
digestive tract and lower intensine...THAT'S how far he was up Dubya's ass

This guy actually had Republican and Democrats alike, pining for a return to the
salad days of John Ashcroft...a man who at least he wore his outre, overloaded
lunacy in public. At least you could fire the accusatory finger at him and say,
beyond all shades of doubt: 'That motherf*cker is f*cking crazy.'

And there's comfort in that. Ashcroft didn't have any hidden agenda beyond a slavish devotion
to the bald eagle, the good book, and the wholly self-serving political agenda of the bible-
beating Christian right. That's it. That's the triptych that made up Ashcroft's wheelhouse.

Gonzo on the other hand, comes off as this spontaneously combusting phony. This
slick, pandering, operator: Part pimp, part putz. The gladhanding shill who goes in and
greases all the girls to make sure that the famous folks he works for have a good time.

That kind of guy is good to have in Vegas...bad to have in office.

Gonzo, a word of advice as you wind your way back toward that Texas sunset. When you suborn
your own moral and ethical code. When you become an instrument of intolerance and wrong-
headed hypocrisy. When you help wage the wars of men more powerful than yourself...then you
risk losing it all. Which you've done...

But there will always be a tomorrow for the willing of heart...

...so reach down, relocate your nuts and prove that your Harvard law degree and life to date, can
yield something other than bootlicking and brown-nosing in the future.

I didn't really much care that he was leaving when I heard the news this morning. Just one more Bush crony who bites the (gold)dust. B F D. Who's next? Maybe we should begin a pool? My pick is Condi.

The scary part is who'll replace these folks for just over a year and a half? Only the most loyal dolts or the most opportunistic assholes the GOP leaders can push to the White House. Ugh.

Can we move the general election up to January?

Joe,

How can I possibly respond to such a post? I am speechless.

Quite the wordsmith, I love it.

Joe, love the comments. Like Kevin, I don't think I can add anymore...BUT stop wasting such beautiful writing on that sphincter and save it for your scripts, man!

Preach it, brother, preach it!

You know what's f.ckin' bull$hit, this country is better than this. Better than these a$$holes whose thinking ability hardly stretches beyond their viagra induced boners. Their college educations put to phenomenal usage, helping to destroy the very fabric of the country they live in. Way to represent!

It's the goddamn Whitney Houston syndrome that drowns people. So engulfed in their "haves" that they forget how to actually think with anything other than their f.ckin' wallets. Why does it seem the people who get what they want or have the ability to actually make a difference f.ck it all up?

Long night and I'm bitter, but f.ck Bush and f.ck politics. People are better than that $hit; whether any of those people get the spotlight or attention they deserve is another story! This country needs a REAL goddamn leader!

BORAT '08!

Whew! Sorry for all the expletives, Joe!

Peace,

JW

LOL! Who's Gonzo? "I can't recall." LOLOL! One thing I despise more than a liar is a bad liar (Joe, the poker players here in Vegas would eat him alive, LOL!). I sure hope somewhere down the road it turns out Gonzo had early onset alzheimers disease or something (like Prez reagan). That's the only way he'll get any sympathy from me for all the sh-t he had to take from Congress while covering Bush and Cheney's arses.

I almost fell out of my chair when I read Bush's complaint that people were dragging Gonzo's name through the mud. I mean, really!?!?!?!!?!!? Is he really not only that terrible a leader but that terrible a politician that THIS is the horse he chooses to back?!?!? I don't know whether to laugh or cry anymore.

I for one am glad to see that motherfucker out of there. Nothing was more excruciating than watchin his "I...I really don't know" and "You'd have to ask the office of the President" answers in front of committee. He seemed to be the most brazen at working the system, knowing that a feigned lack of knowledge would somehow keep him from any level of accountability for his or his office's decisions.

I just wish we could see some kind of fucking punishment for the bullshit, the flaunted disregard for the Constitution that these assholes have shown time and time again.

Too much to ask for?
