ESCALADE...NYC...SOUTH AMERICA 11/13/2007 at 06:39 AM

Guys:

The spots we did for the Cadillac CTS have gone through the roof. I got a call
from the folks at GM and apparently, as car sales go, 4% sales growth is considered
'explosive.' Caddy sales are up 16% since those CTS ads starting airing. So, they've
asked us to do the next round of spots featuring the Escalade. It's only a four day
gig, so it won't take away from anything that may develop feature-wise. There's a
bunch of offers out there to do movies that start right now but if it ain't WHITE JAZZ
or PABLO I just can't do it. I've waited this long...a little bit longer won't kill me.

Flying to NYC this weekend to meet an actor I'm pretty geeked on and apparently it's
mutual, or I wouldn't be taking the trip. Then off to Colombia and then Argentina for
a pair of quick scouts.

So, as well as asking you back to do more ads, did they offer you a free Escalade too?

Good to hear that you're still pushing ahead with JAZZ or PABLO. Keep 'em other projects away.

Joe, I'm curious about something, and if it's personal, then don't answer, but this trip to NYC, do you have to pay for that yourself, or does the studio (or whatever) pay for it?

Good luck with the scouting trips.

Doubler:

It's the studios dime bud. As it should be!

Hi Joe,
White Jazz whether its made now or later will get made with all the players you want, I am sure of it. I see such a huge potential in making Killing Pablo. I am a colombian american actor in New York and LA and I know all the horror stories of what this man did. The characters you could bring to life would be amazing through your film work. I can't even sit still while i write this because i am so excited about this film to be made. Please make it!! And if you need a Hugo Jr. don't look any furhter. I am trained by the great William Esper of the Meisner method in NYC, I am in my early 20's, and yes colombian. I also studied international relations at the University of Miami with a focus on Latin American politics. I feel all the stars are alligned on this one so forgive my little biography. This story is so important especially for Colombia that is such an interesting country with such a strange outcome. I won't bore the blog with a history lesson but it's just a shame that Mexico and Brazil have so much social awarness and film and Colombia has one hit, Maria Full of Grace. Well, Good Luck with everything and continue with all the great work you do. P.S. if you want my headshot and resume I am ready to Overnight it, haha.

Joe,

I thought as much, but this being Hollywood, I'm sure they'd try and find a way to fleece you out of some money if they could!

Thanks.

Congrats on the spots, sounds great. So curious bout who that actor is. He a young guy or a vet? Any hints would be sweet.

Joe,

Great news! Cannot wait for KP to go before the cameras.

A few words of advice: Don't get caught with any bags of Colombian in your luggage. LOL.

Take care. :)

Good news about NYC and then going to Colombia and Argentina.

I can't see the ad over here, too bad.

Like Doubler I have a question, maybe you won't feel like you have to answer to it but I ask, just in case you care. When you're not shoting, are you paid by the studio? I know writers are while writing but I've always wondered for director. Or maybe someone else 'from the inside' can answer.

My hubby loves all things Cadillac (and he's German, LOL!)...but I purposely steered him away from test driving the New CTS....cuz If i can't test drive Martin Henderson...then he can't test drive the new caddy. Fair is fair. LOL! ...I dig both of Martin's ads...as well as the behind-the-scenes clip. Kate walsh did well too. :)... It'll do for an instant fix til he's back on the big screen.

Have fun, Joe. :)
