BURNED IN THE DESERT 02/04/2008 at 11:03 AM

Guys:

The Pats saw their perfect season go up in flames courtesy of the
nastiest pass rush and blitz packages they'd had seen all season.
I haven't seen Brady knocked flat that many times, EVER. They kept
that offense off the field too and Eli Manning just picked 'em apart.

In the end, if there was any truth whatsoever in the Spygate scandal and
the Pats were illegally filming and stealing signals then they got what they
deserved.

I actually was hoping for a perfect season though, if for no other reason than
silencing all those ancient, obnoxious f*cking Dolphins from the '72
campaign that roll out every year and try to buzzkill the undefeated teams.
I remember them popping champagne a few years back when an Elway-led
Broncos team stalled at 13-0. These old sh*theads were actually at Mile High
stadium, dousing one another with bottles of Korbel like it was some strip club
fantasy.

Show some class.

That Pats team still might be one of the best in history. They just came up against
an incredibly inspired Giants team that had a bullet-proofed game plan.

I saw your Cadillac spot last night a few times with Brian Bloom. Congrats Joe on that whole series of commercials. I think last nights was the best. Damn Bloom looks good in that car and probably everywhere else too! My husband screamed at the TV during the game and I was screaming when I saw those eyes. Sexy man with a sexy voice. Good work guys. Thanks for giving the ladies something to yell about. I'm buying a Cadillac if it comes with Brian Bloom.
Glad the strike is ending so you can get back to making movies.

It was one of the best Superbowls ever - exciting 4th qtr to the end. It is a shame to lose a perfect record in the last minute and 1/2 (not necessarily a Giants fan either - just a NY fan) but it was a hard fought/hard won defensive game and it also would have been a shame if the Giants lost at the end as well. A great cap to a Super Tuesday would now be to publically announce an official end to the strike.

Incredible game, incredible outcome. That Tyree catch must go down in history as one of the best Superbowl plays ever. As a die hard Jet fan and NY resident, there's nothin better than seeing the Giants hand Brady his ass. Well, it's parade time. Go G-Men!

Joe I don't know if you are aware, but every single football team did what the Pats got caught for in the begging of the season. They were the only ones that got caught so they got all the backlash. That is why you didn't see a lot of criticism from other players and coaches around that time.

Great freaking game. That is what a Superbowl should be like.

Its weird to see Eli matured. I mean when the hell did that happen? I still remember him as a punk kid with a chip on his shoulder because Cooper and Peyton were so much better.

But, and this takes me a lot to admit being a Mississippi State Alum, Eli showed he was a man last night and a great quarterback.

Not as touching as last year since Peyton and Cooper used to sit on my mom's lap at Saints games, but nice to see the Manning boys do so well. Just a shame Cooper can't be out there showing everyone how it really should be.

What do you mean they stil might be the best team ever? are you kidding? Montana's 49ers finished the 89 season with one loss, and then stomped Elway and the Broncos 55-10, with Montana sitting out most of the 4th quarter. So they finished 18-1, just like the Patriots, except they won a little thing called the SUPERBOWL!
They would have destroyed this team.

Vegas' sports books were the real losers yesterday. They took a HUGE hit (to the tune of about USD$100 mil) with the Giants win over the near-perfect Patriots. All the Patriots had to do was WIN for "the House" to win...but sorry....didn't happen. LOL! Amateur gamblers beat "the experts" and got paid. LOL!...My hubby and I were rooting for the Giants at our friend's party. We were getting teased and taunted by all the Pats fans til the last minute in the game...Then we did a victory dance throughout the house. LOL! I just didn't want the Patriots to go 19-0 ...and we both like the Mannings (Eli is with the Giants...his brother Peyton is with the Colts...who beat our Bears in last year's Super Bowl...and their dad Archie was a New Orlean Saint WAY back in the day)...I also hate all the Tom Brady hype...about his career and whatever hot celeb chick he's sleeping with at the moment. LOL! Undefeated all season long...all through the playoffs...but no Super Bowl victory for the Patriots. And as the saying goes: "It don't mean a thing if you don't win that ring." Maybe next year.

i know this isnt on topic or anything Joe. but you should let it be known you were the first one to predict Casey Affleck in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

What is going on with Pride And Glory? I saw the trailer for it and it looks awesome. Edward Norton is maybe the best actor alive and he looks excellent in it. Wasn't it filmed back in 2006. On imdb it says it is coming out in 2009.
Have you seen a cut of it? Are you and Gavin O'Connor good friends? Also, is Christian Bale still in Killing Pablo (because of Terminator 4 and Public Enemies) and Javier Bardem (Tetro and NIne) as well?

Sammy:

I would never knock the Niners dude. I grew up in Nor Cal and that remains my team. Till the bitter end. I think that Pats team was pretty good though but do I think they could've beat that niner team? No. Do I think they could've beat the '94 Steve Young led Niners. HELL NO.

JC

And yes! I did call Casey Affleck!
