SPITZER 03/11/2008 at 08:03 AM

Guys:

Finally, the Dems get dirty...is it just me, or is this a great thing for the party.
It shows some humility and greater still, humanity. The guy got caught with his
d*ck in the door to be sure and paying a prostitute for sex is still a crime (in this day
and age, Jesus are we a bunch of puritanical pussies) yet his bust looks positively
pristine against the more recent Republican faux pas' of being a bible-beating,
homophobic toad and then getting collared after buying meth for a midnight
rendezvous with a gay masseur. Or voting against every piece of pro-gay legislation
to come before the senate but voting for an amendment to ban gay marriage in the U.S.
Constitution shortly before getting busted trying to solicit sex in the stall of an airport
men's room.

NICE!

Ted Haggard and Larry Craig are f*cking hypocrites. Spitzer looks like an eagle
scout by comparison. I know he was married and yes, it's dead wrong but maybe the
most unfortunate thing was, the guy was a genuine crusader...he busted up some bad
people. Now he'll forever be known as 'Client 9' and the former 'disgraced' governor of
New York. I can't see how he doesn't resign. It's too brutal. I feel horrible for his wife too.
That's a miserable way to make a public appearance.

This is why I could never go into politics kids. I'd get fried about an hour after announcing
my candidacy. This incident at least gave the Dems street cred. Something the party has
been sorely lacking. You need some nastiness like this every once in awhile to remind
people that you're still deeply flawed and not without your faults. God knows the Republican
party would know that, better than anybody.

It's bad for the Clinton camp though, as much as Spitzer was a real rallying force
for them. Obama's people are probably pumped. The spin will be extravagant too.
Bill C.'s been a seat a helluva lot hotter than the one Spitzer's in.

I wonder what he's whispering to him, right now...

LOL! Love it Joe!! :)

This won't affect Hillary even though Spitzer was one of the "super delegates" supporting her...not as far as most women are concerned. Besides...Hillary is behind in delegates, popular vote and states won. Losing one super delegate means nothing...To me, Spitzer was just another man following his cock (straight or gay)...like that of Bill Clinton and the others you mentioned. LOL!... I felt bad for Spitzer's wife too...having to stand next to him and smile for the cameras when she probably felt like cutting his fecking throat...I felt for her like I did for Hillary when Bill humiliated her in front of the world. But All of that "stand by your man" bullsh-t is for country singers. I'd scalp him in his sleep and then take him to the cleaners financially. Of course I'd stay with him if I were politically ambitious and opportunistic like Hillary...or if Spitzer were Martin henderson...but I digress. LOL! ...How many female politicians have done or been caught doing the sh-t these men have? It's a penis thing...and you cultish Messiah-Obama supporters and old man Viagra-Mccain supporters should remember that. Penis talks, man listens. LOL! Yea verily I'm a sore loser to the bitter end. Go Hillary!! LOL!

Oh yeah...you forgot to mention Louisiana's Vitter...who also has a penchant for prostitutes...and the one old guy who likes teen boys working as White House pages. LOL!

He whispered: "You paid WHAT?! Don't you know how to get that for free?!"

"Is that it Michael? Is that my grail? 2 Lithuanian mouths on my cock... is that the correct answer to the multiple choice of me?" - Arthur Edens

Sorry - love that line!

I think I'd probably look at this differently had I not read a particular book on the subject. One of very, very few books on this controversial subject, but I'm leaning toward this as my next script, so I won't divulge...

Stewart/Colbert wrapped this one as tight as it could get last night. Classic stuff!

"Spitzer swallows" is my favorite!

Peace,

Hmmmmm. Not sure about the street cred, but if you say so! :D Sheesh, I wouldn't think that the dems would need to prove how "deeply flawed" they are after Bill Clinton. And I say that as someone who still thinks very highly of him. You just have to accept the bad with the good, you know? Regarding Spitzer, I guess the real issue is the fact that he was so vocal against prostitution, even more so than the illegality of his actions. So yes, he may very well step down. But I still see it as mainly an issue for New Yorkers. I suppose that it could affect Hillary since she is from that state and has connections to him. Still, there is one good thing that could come out of this. It could serve to remind people that if Hillary were to be elected, it is highly unlikely that she would ever be caught with a prostitute!

I have to echo some of Wendy's words here...I'm not sure having another Democrat involved in a sex scandal is "good" for the party, or any party for that matter. And I have to disagree with JC, but Spitzer is right up there with Haggard and Craig (as far as hypocrisy goes) the guy was a crusader against prostitution, busting several rings...and although he didn't thump bibles, being that vocal against anything and then getting caught doing the very thing you spoke out against ain't too kosher for anyone.

I also don't know if "street cred" is what this country needs in it's leadership right now...I think it's character. Down to the bones, lights on or off, make mama proud, without reproach character. Having been a government of shady deals, back slap appointments, and an arrogant foreign policy fueled by hubris, we need to remind the world that "America" isn't just an idealistic wet dream, but a place where people actually do care for others at home and abroad, whose actions can back up their values (instead of contradict them) and where hope not only exists, but is an integral part of who we are to ourselves and others.

Paying a chick to spread her legs, while not being the worst thing a person can do, isn't something an ex-Attorney General should be doing.

Do I think public officials should be held to a higher standard? Yes. Some jobs in our society should and do have a higher standard. You probably wouldn't care if your insurance agent got wasted the night before you came in for a new policy, but you might be a little concerned if it was your flight's pilot. Again, it's not the "paying for sex" part that I think is the problem...it's a question of judgment and character..and selfishness. Feel bad for his wife, yes, but if he can't keep a promise and hold a loyalty to the person he's pledged his devotion to, and put her above his "desire", what does that say about what he would choose between the pledge of his office and some other "want"?

I feel the higher up on the food chain the better a person needs to be in their decision making...because a regular Joe (sorry JC) screws around and makes a poor decision, it usually only affects the people around him, a higher up screws up, it may affect hundreds, if not thousands of people (3,983 brave ones in Iraq) and that's something we can't afford anymore of.

Peace,
RTA

Carnahan must have tons of street cred, because the only way he is getting some poontang is if he plays the "movie director card" or whips out his credit card.

Jesus Christ you people couldn't be less interesting or have a more retarded opinion, if not the most ignorant I've ever heard... of course, to really understand what you're saying, you'd have to actually go out with Joe somewhere to see, right...

I'll leave it at that and just say that I have the experience you numbnuts don't and you couldn't be further from wrong if it hit you upside the head.

Get a life.
