THE ROCK 05/04/2008 at 01:03 PM

This is my son, taunting my father, who is hardcore San Francisco Giants
fan. My kid playing for the Dodgers and rocking the dreaded blue is a dagger
to the heart of my old man.

My son knew EXACTLY how to play the moment too.

He's a natural hitter this kid. Like Rod Carew. No great power but just places the ball wherever
he wants to. Very proud of all my kids this season. We haven't got the greatest record
but man have I had a blast coaching them...and this business will never give me the gray
hairs that those kids are capable of creating. We're going into the playoffs next week so
I'm hoping for a 1980 U.S. Hockey team mojo as we take on the top seeded teams. These
guys really are the Bad News Bears but we love every one of 'em.

Joe, I understand the pain. My son watched some animated movie and started running around saying we were playing for the Yankees. My mother and I had to set him straight: in this house, we are Cardinals fans. I thought I was going have to get rid of him and start on making a new one.

I like the Rod Carew reference. Your kid looks like a ball player.

your son is adorable - your dad must have loved every minute of it. Good luck with the rest of the season.
Kids are a parents biggest heartache but the greatest joy in life.
Rock on

I'm not into baseball at all (frog here, you know) but your son looks so... peaceful. Was he posing or did you take the photo by surprise? ^^^

I help coach my oldest and almost bowed out
because i was forced to wear a Yankees hat.
Born and raised Tigers fan.
My head burns every little league game!

Good luck in the playoffs, Joe.

PS Which one is Tanner?

Dear: Mr. Joe……………………………………………………………………… .............................................................Torre,

This late in the season your players have probably hit the proverbial wall. At this point you need to resort to plain old bribery in order to get break out performances on the field. I see a keg of root beer, pizza and grand theft auto IV in the Dodgers future if they make it to the big game.

Good Luck Dodgers,
DanV

PS: As a SF Giants fan, does your Dad sit and cheer with the opposing team and heckle your son when he is up for bat?

He-he. Sounds like your son has real talent and is a natural agitator (as we say in hockey), too. Best of luck to you and your team.

Best Wishes, Wendy
